Passed away on September 3rd, 2020 in Camarillo
Frances was born January 4th, 1933 in Brawley, CA
To Dionicio Barron and Tranquelina Quintana.
A lifelong county resident, Frances will forever be remembered by her family and extended Oxnard Moose Lodge #561/#1464 family as the woman who loved and lived for family and lovingly called "Queenie"
Frances was happy being a homemaker and famous for her homemade flour tortillas that she made daily when raising her children. She worked several years in the 70's at the Casa Sirena Hotel in Oxnard, CA in the housekeeping department as a supervisor.
Frances was an active member of the Oxnard Moose lodge #561/ Woman of the Moose Chapter #1464. She loved being there helping when she could and socializing with Family and friends listening to the DJ play her favorite singer Vicente Fernandez. She would also donate and help make gift bags monthly for the homeless population in Oxnard.
She was very passionate about attending the yearly Local Relay for life fund raisers, as she was diagnosed with Cancer 3 1/2 years ago, that she fought with everything she was, she said she needed to be here to see the new great grandbabies be born, that's why she fought so hard, however, ultimately it was not the cancer that ended her life, it was a brief illness with Covid-19.
She is preceded in death by her parents Dionicio and Tranquilina Barron, Brothers Joe, Jess, Frank, Tony and Edward Barron, Sisters Mary, Felipa and Reyes Barron, Husband Robert Garcia, Sons Javier Jr. and Edward Diaz, Granddaughters Antoinette and Annamarie Brizuela.
She is survived by her brothers Rupert and Louis Barron, children Daniel Diaz (Diane) Frank Diaz (Lorraine), Anthony Diaz (Ester), Shelly Brizuela (Antonio), Mitchell Diaz (Lorena), 25 Grandchildren, 42 Great grandchildren, 1 Great-great grandchild, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A special Thank you to Vitas Hospice for all your care and kindness and Francine Brizuela (granddaughter) for being her caregiver and never leaving her side until the end.
Family and friends are welcome to attend an outdoor Holy Rosary and Mass at St. Anthony's church 2511 South C. St., Oxnard on Monday Sept. 21st at 10AM, Internment will be at 12:15PM at Santa Clara Cemetery 2370 N H. St., Oxnard, CA 93036.
An outdoor reception will follow at Oxnard Moose Lodge 1935 S. Oxnard Blvd. 93033. Please wear masks.
