Our beloved Pastor Father Francis Malley went to meet the glory of God on October 21, 2020. Father Malley was appointed Pastor of San Francisco de Asis Parish in Ranchos de Taos, NM in January 2005 and served until approximately 2011. He emigrated to the U.S. in 1976 from Scotland and was an Educator at Sandia Preparatory School in ABQ for 20 years andatvarious other educational positions. Heearnedhis firstMaster of Arts Degreefrom St. John's College in Santa Fe. In 2001 Father Malley was ordained to the priesthood in Santa Fe afterearninghisMaster of Divinity Degreein Theology at Holy Apostles Seminary in Cromwell, Connecticut. Father Francisalso served asPastor atfive other Parishes in the Archdiocese of Santa Fe.In 2011 Father Malley was offered the San Jose Parish in Cerrillos, NM a smaller parish, after suffering a heart attack. This parish had two smaller missions each 30 milesapart to which he traveled regularly. After a year, he was beginning to feel the strain of travel. Having passed 70 years of age and with the advice of his doctor, Father Malley retired. Father Malley, was a generousman of great faith, deeply concerned with meeting the needs of thosein his care,be-itschool children, parishioners, fellow seminarians, or the community he served. Heput their needs before his own. His kind, humble demeanor and deep melodic Scottish accent quickly earned him theaffection, love, and respect of his parishioners. Father Malley embraced our Taos customs and traditions, actively promoting and participating in our annual church "enjarre"(mudding),"las posadas"(a religious Christmas celebration)and the Lenten observance of the Hermanos Penitentes. As a Parish Priest, Father Malley devoted his life to God and his parishioners. His life's workprecluded him from having a family orthe financial meansto assist him with medical and funeral expenses once he retired. Therefore, we must humbly ask your assistance andgenerositybycontributingto the "Father Francis-Malley-GoFundMe Campaign" to assistwiththese expenses.Thank you, for your kind attention and help.
