Fr. Antonio Perdomo
August 19, 1955 ~ April 1, 2021
Fr. Antonio Perdomo (birth name Nelson Antonio Perdomo) departed this life due to cancer complications on April 1st 2021 in Pharr, TX surrounded by family. He was born in La Vega, Dominican Republic to Lucia Collado and Frederico Perdomo in 1955.
Archpriest Antonio served at St. George The Great Martyr Orthodox Church in Pharr, TX since 2002, where he founded and directed St. George Food Pantry, The International Festival, and The Winter Service Youth Retreat. He served on the Metropolitan Council for the Orthodox Church in America and as the Liaison to the Diocese of Mexico (Iglesia Ortodoxa en America Diocesis de Mexico). Fr. Perdomo acted as a Frontline Responder with International Orthodox Christian Charities and as a missionary with Orthodox Christian Mission Center. Padre Antonio is remembered for his years of faithful ministry across Latin America, which included Podcasts for Ancient Faith Ministries, educational literature and forums, and guest speaking. Serving in his native language was one of his greatest joys.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Elizabeth Perdomo (Carol Whittle); three daughters Analucia Brown (John Aaron), Cristina Kautsky (Alexander), and Rosamarie Perdomo; three grandchildren; a sister, Vilma Williams (Dale); and a brother, Paul Perdomo (Kathy).
A viewing will be held on Sunday April 4, 2021 from 1 - 4 PM at Aurora Funeral Home Sam Houston at 706 W Sam Houston Blvd, Pharr, TX. All are welcome to say their goodbyes. The funeral will be held on Monday April 10th at 2 pm. However, due to Covid restrictions, it will not be open to the public. The funeral will be LiveStreamed on the St. George Orthodox Church FaceBook page, for those who would like to watch. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. George Orthodox Church P.O. Box 667 Pharr, TX 78577. Services are entrusted to Aurora Funeral Home Sam Houston in Pharr.
