Foster Lee "Doc" Junkins , 76 Nov 29, 1944 - Apr 13, 2021 Foster Lee "Doc" "Flip" Junkins, 76, passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2021.
Born November 29, 1944, in Doylesburg, PA, he was a son of the late Fred and Alda Parsons Junkins.
Doc graduated from Fannett-Metal High School in 1965 and served as a Marksman and a Crypto Intelligence Operator in the United States Army during the Vietnam Warm. He was a devoted Christian who loved and served his country. He has a no fear attitude which unfortunately led to his death.
Doc lived to hunt, fish, and be with his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved chasing long beards with his son, David, on those beautiful spring mornings. He was also one of the best turkey callers ever and was a finalist several time in the PA State Turkey Calling Contest.
Doc was a renowned weightlifter, bodybuilder, and personal trainer. In 1995, Doc won the Masters Mr. America AAU bodybuilding competition overall, and was a five-time Mr. Pittsburgh Champion AAU, 1997 Potomac Cup Champion NGA, 2006 American Challenge Champion NASF. Doc held many weightlifting records at different classes.
Doc was always a great mentor to many aspiring weightlifters and bodybuilders. He was always there to talk to and give you advice, or a piece of gum, or a protein bar, a protein shake, an apple, or a cheap Chinese knife. Doc was known to be a terror on the soccer field, and he was also an avid softball player for many years.
Doc was known as the "Class Hercules" and a "Way Out Dancer" in high school. He was also known as one of the biggest eaters in the area, winning the Fuddruckers 3lbs Burger eating contest along with several other food challenges. Doc had many phrases that he was famous for, such as: "That Thumper", "Tell the Truth", "You're Lying", "I'm Telling Ya", "That Piece of Slop, "Does that Have Sugar In it", and many more. Doc loved and cherished his two Yorkies, Buck and Angel who will have their final resting place with their daddy.
Doc is survived by his two children, David (and wife Stacy) Junkins, Tonya Schroyer and companion Duane Pilkertown, companion and friendship Henrietta Aulabaugh, a former spouse and friend Linda Junkins, and grandchildren: Clinton and Blaine Junkins, Holli Spidel, Kati Schroyer, and 6 great-grandchildren. Doc is survived by his sisters: Barb Bramm, Faye Rotz, Rachel Laughlin, and brother: Theodore (Ted) Junkins and Patrick Junkins.
Doc is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Junkins, and siblings, George Junkins and Minnie Peterson, and a granddaughter, Cali Schroyer.
A military honors graveside service will be held at Stenger Hill Cemetery, Ft. Loudon, PA, at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 with Doc's close friend Pastor Richard Murphy officiating.
