Floyd Wilson (F.W.) Gerhardt, Jr., 79, passed from this life to life eternal on February 4, 2022 at his home in Knoxville. He was born on October 11, 1942 in Jackson, Tennessee to Floyd Wilson Gerhardt, Sr. and Rose Vinson Gerhardt while his father was stationed in Europe during World War II. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, William (Billy) Gerhardt.
F.W. was a 1961 graduate of North Side High School in Jackson, Tennessee. He retired in 1995 following a twenty-seven-year career with United Parcel Service. For more than twenty years following his retirement, he and his wife enjoyed traveling around the United States and Canada in their motor home with their grandchildren. A devoted Christian son, brother, husband, father, friend, and beloved "D-Dad" to his grandchildren, F.W. was known for his kind heart, quiet spirit, and wonderful sense of humor. He was a member of Central Baptist Church of Bearden where he attended the Chuck Chance Sunday School class and volunteered with Mission of Hope.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Judith Hollamon Gerhardt, his daughter Amanda (Chris) Crowell of Lebanon, Tennessee, his son Erik Gerhardt of Knoxville, his grandchildren Maggie Crowell and Ethan Crowell, and his brother Rev. Gary (Donna) Gerhardt of Church Hill, Tennessee.
Services will be held at Click Funeral Home, Farragut, on Thursday, February 10 at 4:00 p.m. with visitation from 2:30 p.m. until the service. Burial will take place at Hollywood Cemetery in Jackson, Tennessee where a graveside service for family and friends will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 11. Visitation will follow at Arrington Funeral Home in Jackson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to CADES (Concord Adult Day Enrichment Services) at Concord United Methodist Church, 11020 Roane Drive, Knoxville, TN 37934 or to Central Baptist Church of Bearden.
