Floy Newell Beard

Floy Newell Beard, 90, passed away July 13, 2021 at Memorial Health after a short illness.

The Mississippi native retired from the Civil Service after 30 years working at Fort Bragg North Carolina. She was a 20 year volunteer with the Senior Road Runners. Widowed just shy of 70 years of marriage she recently moved to Clyo to live with her daughter where she attended The Kirk Presbyterian Church on Bee Road.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Wesley and Alma Mae Johnson Newell; her husband, Ellis Rayford Beard; and eight siblings.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Randy Minick; three granddaughters, Shelby, Haley, and Chloe Minick; brother and sister-in-law, J.W. and Billie Newell, Jr.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be 4 p.m. Sunday, July 25, 2021 at The Kirk Presbyterian Church, 3212 Bee Road, Savannah, GA 31404.
