Floy "Jean" Snell, 91, of Pampa Texas was at her home when she transitioned from her earthly life to her eternal heavenly home Saturday, September 25 at 12:45 a.m. Jean was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church where a memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 28, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Michael Erickson officiating. Additionally, in honoring mother's love for all and the present health concerns, we will have live stream services through GriggsSchoolerGordon.com website page to participate in her service for those unable to attend in person.
Jean was born April 27, 1930, in Pratt, KS to George Merritt and Alma Maye Mawdsley where she lived until venturing off to nurses training in Kansas City MO where she met and married the love of her life Gene Snell, November 24, 1949. The couple moved to the Rhea Community of the Texas Panhandle in 1951 before moving to Pampa, TX in 1956 where she spent her life actively devoted to loving and serving her Savior Jesus Christ, her family, and community until God called her home. Jean blessed, enriched, and positively impacted each and every life she encountered by sharing the love of Jesus through her life, words, and deeds.
Proverbs 31:28-30: Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: "Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all." Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Gene, son, Brad, and a host of loving family members intimately involved in her life and then serving as her heavenly welcoming committee. Jean is survived by her loyal dog, Bruiser, son, Craig and spouse Kimberly of Clarendon TX ; daughter, Jen of White Deer TX; son, Kim and spouse Jamie of Denton TX; daughter Becky of Broken Arrow OK; eleven grandchildren, Chad and spouse Cindy; Eric and spouse Michelle; Sheridan and spouse Waylon; Kyle and spouse Cristin; Markeeta and spouse Donny; Adam and spouse Holly, Reagan, Grace and spouse Joey, Michelle and spouse Jeremy; Michael, Matthew; great and great great grandchildren; extended family, Ross and Jeanie Hoener of Pratt, KS; cousins, nieces, nephews, and many loving friends.
Words cannot sufficiently express our heart-felt appreciation to "The Snell Family Caregivers" who truly became family as they devotedly loved, cared for, and served "Mrs. Jean". We also gratefully thank Texas Home Health Hospice, and doctors Hinshaw, Wilson, and Osborne.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Zion Lutheran Church, Pampa Pregnancy Support Center & Hope House, or a charity of your choice.
