Florine E. Baldwin, 85, passed away at Culpeper Health and Rehab Center on Wednesday afternoon, April 28, 2021. She was born December 20, 1935 in Rappahannock County, the oldest child of the late Clyde W. and Lillie Dwyer Pullen.
Florine was married June 7, 1951 in Sperryville to Charlie F. Baldwin who preceded her in death in 2005, by the late Elder J. Harvey Daily.
A former employee of Aileen Mfg. Co., Inc at Flint Hill until they closed, she then worked at Wrangler in Madison until she retired. She loved gardening, and flowers and was always sewing, making many quilts, all by hand. She was a member of Gid Brown Bible Baptist Church in Gid Brown Hollow.
Florine is survived by five children: Wayne F., of Slate Mills; Jack M., of Sperryville; Robert L. (Joan) of Washington; Connie Smoot (Bobby) of Sperryville; and Rebecca Burke (Jeff), of Washington. Ten grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren also survive.
Additional survivors are her siblings: John W. Pullen of Boston, Clyde M. Pullen of Washington, David L Pullen, Roy L. Pullen, Washington and Mrs. Kathy Pullen, of Sperryville.
Mrs. Baldwin was also preceded in death by one grandson, Bobby Smoot, Jr.; and one great-granddaughter, Evonne Pullen.
Graveside services were held Monday, May 3, 2021 at Washington Masonic Cemetery with Pastor Bruce Beeler of Gid Brown Baptist Church and Elder Jason Adams of the Thornton Gap Primitive Baptist Church.
