Florence Meehan Reynolds-Mullany, 87, of Great Barrington, MA passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2022 in Great Barrington.
Born on September 6, 1934 in Webster, MA, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Regina (Phoenix) Meehan. She graduated from St. Louis High School in Webster, MA and attended Becker Junior College in Worcester, MA.
She was a Charter Member of the St. Louis League of Catholic Women. She was also a member of the Ancient Order of Hiberians and The Democratic Women on Wheels in Palmer, MA. She served on the Board of Directors of Fairways Condominium #7 in Ocala, FL for 9 1/2 years. She held various work positions in Great Barrington, MA and Pittsfield, MA with her last position being a certified moving consultant for Castine Movers in Pittsfield, MA.
She was an accomplished pianist and in later years tried her hand at writing music. She enjoyed knitting for her grandchildren and walking the beach in Rhode Island.
Florence married her first husband, George F. Reynolds, on April 19, 1958 at St. Louis Church in Webster, MA. They lived in Dudley, MA at the family homestead for several years before making Great Barrington their final and permanent home. The couple was married for 23 years and had four children before Mr. Reynold's death on April 23, 1981.
On October 27, 1989 Florence married her second husband, James (Ike) Mullany at Blessed Trinity Church in Ocala, FL. They made their home between Great Barrington and Ocala. Mr. Mullany died on October 12, 2004.
Florence is survived by her four children, Catherine Gray and husband George of Ashaway, RI, George Reynolds and wife Cheryl of Otis, MA, Ann Belknap and husband Paul of Pittsfield, MA, and Michael Reynolds of Great Barrington, MA. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren, Erin and Megan Gray of Ashaway, RI and Nathan Reynolds of Otis, MA and her sister-in-law Kaye Meehan of Wilmington, NC.
She was predeceased by her parents, her first and second husband as well as her sister Ethel Pellegrino and her brothers Richard and William Meehan.
SERVICES - Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 22 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Church on Main Street in Great Barrington, MA, conducted by Rev. William P. Murphy. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Dudley, MA.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 21 from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home, 426 Main Street, Great Barrington, MA 01230.
