Florence L. Brandow, 100, of Madison, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, January 2, 2022. Born in South Fallsburg, NY on December 21, 1921, she was the daughter of Horace and Effie Bevier Green. Florence married Floyd Brandow on September 1, 1951 in Hobart, NY. She lived in Upper Montclair, NJ for over 37 years before moving to Madison in 1996. She was a member of the Dutch Reformed Church in Roxbury, NY, the Union Congregational Church in Upper Montclair, NJ and the First Congregational Church in Madison. Florence received her nursing diploma from Kingston Hospital, NY and served in the United States Armed Forces during World War II as a Registered Nurse and worked at numerous hospitals.
She is survived by her three children: Susan Brandow-Pribnow of Killingworth, John Brandow of Manhattan and Peter Brandow of Knoxville, TN, six grandchildren and one great grandson. She is also survived by her brother Robert Green of Oneonta, NY. In addition to her husband Floyd, she was pre-deceased by her sister Dorothy Davis.
Services were held on Saturday, January 8 at the First Congregational Church of Madison. Burial was at West Cemetery, Madison. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to: CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405.
