Felix Blair Thompson, 91, passed away Sunday, August 22, 2021, at Regency House Rehab. He was born 1930, in Cherokee County near Rusk Texas. He was the seventh of 11 children born to Benjamin and Nancy Thompson. He retired from Sun Oil Company as the Southwest District Superintendent and had earned more than 500 hours of college credit in petroleum engineering. He and his wife Mickey were long time owners of the Holiday swimming pool in Lovington New Mexico before retiring in San Angelo Texas.
Blair was a member of the Scottish Rite in Santa Fe New Mexico, a member of the Lovington Chapter #35 Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of the Lovington Lodge #46 Masonic Order AF & AM. Blair had been a 32nd degree Mason for more than 50 years. He was also a deacon at the Highland Christian Church in Hobbs New Mexico.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, John, Art O., Ben Dan, Tommy, and Glenn Thompson. Sisters; Lorraine Jenkins and Anah Jane Perry.
Blair is survived by his wife of 71 years, Mickey Thompson of San Angelo his daughter Rhonda and husband Marvin Boyer of Albuquerque New Mexico. Granddaughter Roni Blair Thompson of San Angelo. Great-grandsons Daniel, Jonathan and Dakota all of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Special family friends, Clay and Cathey Landon and their children, all of San Angelo. Brothers Marvin Thompson of Artesia New Mexico and Wayne Thompson of Gallatin Texas. His sister Geneva Albritton of Rosharon Texas.
There will be no services at this time. A private family memorial will be at a later date. Arrangements are by Shaffer funeral home.
