Faye Cumberland Miller, devoted wife, Mother, Mimi, teacher, and friend passed away on May 14, 2021. She was born on June 6, 1945 in Meridian, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hattie Rea and M.L. Cumberland. Faye attended the University of Southern Mississippi and received her bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. It was during her college days, that she met her beloved husband, James "Jim" R. Miller. They married in August of 1966 and moved to Georgia shortly after. She got a job with the Cobb County School district and helped to open Big Shanty Elementary School. She taught third grade for 31 years, touched the lives of hundreds of children, and was named Teacher of the Year. Faye and Jim were married for 24 years before he died in September of 1990. Faye retired from teaching in 2000 and enjoyed countless trips with family and friends to her beach home in N Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Faye loved and supported her 2 children in any way possible. Whether it was helping Kim with special school projects in her classroom or assisting Tod with managing the family's special events business, JRM Management Services, she was always ready to lend a hand. She especially loved spending time with and spoiling her 4 wonderful grandchildren! Faye is survived by her children Tod Miller (Missy) and Kim Eyrich (Matt) and grandchildren Casey & Brady Miller and Emily & Molly Eyrich. The family will be receiving visitors at Mayes Ward Dobbins Funeral Home, Marietta, on Tuesday, May 18th from 5:00-7:00 PM. A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, May 19th at 2:00 PM at Mayes Ward Chapel. Burial will follow the funeral at Kennesaw Memorial Park.
