Fay Darline Gross, 88, of Shirley, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2020 at her residence. She was born August 9, 1932 in Faubush, KY the daughter of Arthur and Ina Pearl (Eastham) Rogers.
Darline was a homemaker most of her life, but also did home health care for several years. She was a member of the Grant City Wesleyan Church for almost 70 years, a member of the Waynette Home Ec Club and the Kennard Brotherhood and Sisterhood. She enjoyed gardening, canning and baking pies. She especially enjoyed babysitting and rocking her grandchildren and singing to them.
She is survived by children, Larry (Sandra) Gross of Shirley; Donnie (Patty) Gross of Shirley, Lenville (Leanna) Gross of Shirley, Lavonne Schuyler of Shirley, Ronnie (Nancy) Gross of Knightstown, Kathy Gross of Shirley, Roger (Janet) Gross of Cicero and Shelia Wagner of Shirley; 16 grandchildren; 48 great grandchildren; 20 great-great grandchildren; brother, Doug (Lois) Rogers of Knightstown; sister, Elizabeth (Jim) Durham of Knightstown; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clearance Berlin Gross; brothers, Elza Eugene (Thelma) Rogers and Edward Eugene (Sharon) Rogers; sisters, Ella Mae Riggs and Nora Wyatt; granddaughter, Autumn Jean Gross; great grandchildren, Carmen Lee Huffman, Steven Allison, Jonathan Andrew Knapp, Gabriel Austin Perriman, Keaton Matthew Auxier; grand son-in-law: Jason Helm.
Services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, September 10, 2020 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Dr. Jim Lo and Pastor Ron Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 PM Wednesday.
