Evelyn Weber of Latrobe Villas in the Village of Winifred, passed away Sunday, December 22, 2019. She was born in Dover, NJ on January 7, 1925. She went to business school and worked for the Dover Board of Education for 25 years, working her way up to Secretary of the Board. When she retired, they replaced her with two men with master's degrees. She was active in the Christ Child Society when she lived in Cape May, NJ, before moving to The Villages 13 years ago.
She is predeceased by her first husband, Joseph P. McGlone to whom she was married to for 25 years; and her second husband, Robert G. Weber, to whom she was married for 39 years. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, JoEllen and Renny Mitchell.
In New Jersey, she enjoyed going to the beach and was an avid sun worshiper, also bowling and playing golf. She continued playing golf when she moved to The Villages and also enjoyed playing bunco, cards, and rummikub. She also enjoyed going out to eat, her driveway parties and luncheons. She always said she had the best neighbors. She loved animals, especially dogs, and frequently said that she got more pleasure from her dogs than just about anything.
A memorial service will be held at St. Vincent de Paul in Wildwood, where she was a member for 12 years, on Friday, January 3rd at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to an animal rescue or protection foundation of your choice.
