Evelyn Maxine (Johnson) Templer, 97, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2022, in her home surrounded by several family members. She was the daughter of Claude Ernest Johnson and Zoe Mae McClaren and was born on April 10, 1925, in Cherryvale, Kansas. She was married to Charles Gaylord Templer on March 11, 1944, in Cherryvale Kansas, and he preceded her in death on November 30, 1983.
In their early married life, Charles and Evelyn lived and worked on farms in Montgomery County, Kansas, and raised a family of five children; Charles, Garlan, Galen, Tracy and Rebecca. After leaving the farm they operated an Allis-Chalmers farm equipment dealership in Fredonia, Kansas, until deciding to move to the Houston, Texas area for work. Evelyn was a long-time Christian and was a faithful member of churches in the area in which the family lived and was a current member for 18 years at Conroe First Assembly of God in Conroe, Texas.
Evelyn is survived by four of her children; Charles (Colleen) Templer, Galen Templer, Tracy (Trisha) Templer and Becky Templer Breazeale, and daughter-in-law, Evelyn Templer. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren plus numerous nieces and nephews and extended family. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Garlan Templer, son-in-law, Richard Breazeale, daughter-in-law, Sherry (Whitley) Templer and one great grandson, and one great-great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 10:00 am in Cashner Colonial Hall, 801 Teas Road, Conroe, Texas, officiated by Rev. Ernest Fridge with visitation Friday, September 30, 2022, 6:00pm to 8:00 pm. Evelyn will be laid to rest in Grandview Cemetery in Pasadena, Texas next to her husband at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 1st.
