Evelyn Lorraine Rauscher passed away January 23, 2021 in Fort Worth, Texas surrounded by loved ones.
She was born in Grafton, West Virginia on September 10, 1926 to Alva Burt and Eva Lelan Miller. Lorraine was one of six children. In 1947 she married the love of her life, James G. Rauscher. In 1949 they moved to El Paso, Texas and then to Odessa. Together they shared a lifetime of love before Jim's passing in 2007. Lorraine remained in Odessa until 2012, when she moved to Fort Worth to be near her family.
While living in Odessa she was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. She was active in St. Mary's Catholic Church and School. Upon moving to Fort Worth she joined Holy Family Church.
Lorraine cherished spending time with friends. She made friends wherever she went and never met a stranger. She looked forward to her daily exercise classes and weekly bridge games. She was a sports enthusiast, especially enjoying Permian football. Her legacy will always be that of a loving, loyal and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She touched many lives with her heart warming smile and loving spirit.
Mrs. Rauscher is survived by her son James (Bill) Rauscher of Dallas; daughter and son-in-law Janet and Steve Thompson of Fort Worth; grandson Tyler Thompson of Fort Worth; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express its heartfelt gratitude for the excellent care Lorraine received from the caregivers at James L. West Dementia Care Center in Fort Worth.
