Evelyn Pauline Classen Groess
Evelyn grew up in Woodbury on the Classen farm. ..the youngest in a family that included three older brothers and eight older half siblings.
Evelyn's early marriage years were spent in North St Paul. After her three daughters were born, Lenore, Judy & Kathy, the family moved to the Rice Street area of St Paul. There she and her husband Al operated the "Treat Cafe" . The three boys were born, Ron, Denny & Mike. After a time on Jessamine & Jackson, the family moved to Rose and Park Sts, 1 block off Rice and 1 block of Maryland Avenues - across from Sylvan Playground, where the family was involved in sports.
Eventually the kids got married and 23 grandchildren were included in the family, and a 3rd generation was added.
Ev and Al had a lake home on Minnewawa that was shared with the enlarging family. When Al and Ev retired they move there for a few years before
