Evie Simonson passed away peacefully Sunday, March 9, 2025, with daughters Connie, Christie, and loving staff by her side at Northern Pines Assisted Living in Pine City at the age 89.
Evelyn Ann Klar born December 29, 1935, to Anthony "Tony" and Annie (Osladil) Klar in Finlayson, Minnesota. In 1954, Evie and LuVerne "Bud" Simonson were united in marriage at the Hinckley Lutheran Church. God blessed their marriage with 4 daughters: Connie, Carrie, Candie, and Christie.
Evie was a strong, hardworking woman who would lend a helping hand to anyone. After graduating from high school in 1953 she worked at Augsburg Publishing. While raising her daughters Evie did after school daycare in her home. Later over the years she was employed with Haven Homes Nursing Home and Smead Manufacturing. Evie enjoyed baking, gardening, playing Bingo, potlucks, and family reunions. She was always baking and bringing treats to family and friends.
She is survived by and will be deeply missed by her daughters Connie Simonson of Apple Valley, Carrie (Steve) Bell of Lindstrom, Christie (John) Bloms of Albertville; son-in-law Henry Piercey; 5 granddaughters: Christa, Nicole (Josh), Becca (Ryan), Paige (Jordan), Hope (Jake); 2 great granddaughters: Freya and Nora; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Evie was preceded in death by her parents Tony & Annie Klar; husband LuVerne "Bud" Simonson; daughter Candie Simonson; 1 sister; 4 brothers.
Pastor Bruce Thompson will officate services for Evie: 2 PM; Sunday, March 23, at the Hustletown Community Church in Pine City, Minnesota with 1 hour of visitation prior to the service at the church. Interment will take place at Union Cemetery, Hustletown.
