Evelyn Ruth Barron was born August 19, 1948 in Bryan College Station, Texas and was one of six children born to Max and Hilda Schumann. It is with great sorrow we announce Ruthie, our Mom and Memaw, passed away on February 8, 2022, at the age of 73. She devoted her life to her family and her faith in God. Ruthie met the love of her life and husband of 54 years, Raymond Barron, while they were only two kids in high school. They were married in April 1967 and together, have raised a beautiful family in Midland, Texas.
Ruthie was a faithful member of St. Ann's Catholic Church. She was a homemaker and one-of-a-kind Mom in raising her 7 children. Ruthie later began a career at Midland College, where she not only graduated but she became a beloved friend to her coworkers and the many students she assisted along the way. Ruthie was known as "a mom who was everyone's Mom" but also the very best friend you could hope for. To know her was to love her.
Ruthie is proceeded in death by her parents, Max and Hilda Schumann. She is survived by her sweetheart, Raymond Barron, their 7 children, 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, all residing in Midland, Texas: Sydney Rowland, her husband Rick and their daughters Mallory Lopez, her husband Malachi and their children Oliver and Everett, Tara Claire, her husband Jason and their children Collins, Jameson and Finley, Adena Barron and her son U.S. Navy SN, Joseph Barron, Bonnie Munoz, her husband Paul and their sons T.J. Valdez, his wife Brandy and their children Noah, Malachi and Neriah, Zachary Valdez, his wife Brandy and their son Legend, Nicholas Barron, his wife Alena and their daughters Evelyn and Charlotte, Mitchell Barron, his wife Tami and their children Kaden, Korbin, Kenadi and Khloe, Micah Barron, his wife Amanda and their children Gavin, Isabella and Maximilian, Kalee Van Meter and her children Aiden and Cambree and Marcus Barron. Ruthie also dearly loved her siblings and is survived by Cindy Klatt, Patricia Schumann, Jody Schumann, Mary Hopper, her husband Dave and Andy Schumann and his wife Elizabeth, all of Midland, Texas as well.
