Evans Reuben Emelogu of Round Rock, Texas, passed away on December 26th, 2024, at the age of 70. Born on October 24th, 1954 in Abia State of Nigeria, to Reuben and Mabel Emelogu; he confessed his faith in Christ at an early age. Upon relocating to Texas to complete his formal education, Evans joined Holy Cross Catholic Church.
He married Karen Marie Williams on June 30th, 1984, in Austin, Texas, with whom he has two children: Eboni Emelogu of Waco, TX, and Kelechi Emelogu of Rockwall, TX. Evans has another daughter Jennifer Emelogu. Evans is survived by siblings Chinedu Emelogu, Owahie Emelogu, Wajie Emelogu, and Chibuike Emelogu, as well as many extended family members and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Reuben and Mabel Emelogu, and siblings Sampson Emelogu, Monday Emelogu, and Nnenna Emelogu.
While Evans was a man of very few words, he made long standing friendships in a diverse group of personal and professional communities. Evans earned a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Huston-Tillotson University and a Master's degree in Public Administration from Texas State University. Known for his strong work ethic, throughout his career he worked for various companies including Texas Health and Human Services, Abbott Labs, Texas Department of Transportation, Applied Materials, NCS Pearson, and Eye Corp Media. He fulfilled his entrepreneurial passion when he started his own charter business, ICON Charter Services.
In addition to his professional and academic accomplishments, Evans was a member of the Noble Order of the Knights of Peter Claver Council 284, he also dedicated his time to his local community by volunteering for Meals on Wheels and Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.
In summary, Evans led a full and rich life, deeply affecting those around him with his intellect and compassion. His legacy of love, dedication, and service will continue to resonate within his family, friends, and community for generations to come.
A Rosary will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 4, 2025 with a funeral service to immediately follow at Beck Funeral Home, Austin, TX. Interment will be held at Palm Valley Cemetery, Round Rock, TX. www.beckchapels.com
