Evan Harrison Bridges, 23, of Highway 25, died Sunday, July 21, 2024.
Born in Greenville, he was a son of Frankie Wayne and Patti Harrison Bridges. He was of the Baptist Faith and was a 2019 graduate of Ware Shoals High School and a 2021 graduate of Piedmont Technical College. Evan was employed by Sumter Utilities Co., Simpsonville Branch as a C-Lineman.
Evan started playing baseball at the age of 3 and was a starter on the Ware Shoals High Baseball team in the 8th grade, and he was active in baseball, football, and basketball at Ware Shoals High. He received scholarships in Baseball and Football from Erskine College where he attended. He was active in travel ball where he had played for The MayheM, Carolina Shockers, Elite 9, Blue Chip Bulls, and the Carolina Spikes. He twice played in Omaha, NE in the Slump Busters Tournament during the 2014 College World Series and again in 2017. He also played in Phoenix, AZ in the Under Armor All American Tournament.
Surviving are his parents, Frankie and Patti, of the home, a brother, Jacob Bridges (Lynn) of Greenwood, two sisters, Melissa Oswald (Michael) of Greenwood and Jennifer Bridges of Cowpens, paternal grandmother, Helen Bridges of Greenwood, Maternal grandmother, Pat Harrison of Abbeville, a special aunt, Melanie Harrison, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his maternal PaPa, Dennis "Puddin" Harrison.
Memorial services will be held at 3 PM on Sunday, July 28, 2024 at Brissie Field (Ware Shoals High) with Rev. Tommy Wooten and Rev. Dr. Marcus Bishop officiating with a balloon release from the pitchers mound following the service.
Honorary pallbearers will be his co-workers and teammates from MayheM and Ware Shoals High.
