Eva John Wilson formerly of Meadow passed away in Bryan, Texas on Saturday, May 15, 2021.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at Meadow Cemetery, with a Celebration of Life following at 11 a.m. at the Church of Christ in Meadow.
Eva John was born in Wells, Texas on February 16, 1930 to Elsie McLaurin and John Emanuel Etter. She grew up as the youngest of three sisters in Lynn County and attended school in O'Donnell.
Eva John married Raymond Wilson on July 3, 1946. They moved to Terry County in 1953 and became active members of the Meadow community where Eva John operated the Meadow Beauty Shop. She was a longtime Sunday School teacher at the Meadow Church of Christ, and the Iglesias de Cristo, a member of the Senior Citizen's Club, a board member for the Meadow Museum, and a volunteer whenever and wherever she was needed for the school and the community. She sewed many custom outfits for special events and school programs.
Raymond preceded her in death in 2014. She is survived by her sister, Billie Teeter of Bryan; her children Johnece and Pete Marchbanks of Bryan and Floyd and Linda Wilson of Lubbock. She leaves grandchildren Johnette and Joe Trumbo, Shannon and Christy Wilson, Laurin and Jody Ramirez, Allison and Danny Wideman, and Trey and Kelli Marchbanks as well as ten great grandchildren.
