Our beloved mother, Eunice F. Wachtveitl, age 87, passed away due to pancreatic cancer. She went peacefully at home with immediate family by her side.
Eunice is preceded in death by her husband Anthony and one daughter. Eunice is survived by one daughter, three sons, eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Eunice was born June 17, 1934, in Aberdeen, WA. During her life besides being a wonderful, loving mother, she had many jobs and talents. She studied nursing, was a phone operator, worked for Skagit Stationary selecting books to stock in the store, framed pictures for a famed photographer, ran a ceramic studio, had her own frame shop, and later her own needlework shop. She earned the silver thimble award for needlework, crocheted many doilies, tablecloths, bedspreads, knitted, made dolls that were coveted by many at doll shows, made and painted ceramics, and tried her hand at wood carving just before her death. She was always excited to try a new hobby. A private funeral has been scheduled for family and invited guests. In lieu of flowers and condolences, the family encourages donations to the Whatcom Humane Society. Arrangement under the direction of Gilbertson Funeral Home, Stanwood
