Eunice Ray Manders Pittman was born on November 30, 1925 in Ellijay, Georgia and passed away peacefully at home on November 6, 2022.
Eunice is preceded in death by her parents, William H. Manders and Beulah M. Manders; husband, Virgil Pittman; daughters, Martha F. Danielson and Shirley D. Liddle; brothers, Earl Manders, James Manders, Roy Manders, Eugene Manders and Paul Manders; Sisters, Bernice Murray, Vera Norman, Katie Goble, Lucy Rodriguez and Eula Mae Miller.
Eunice is survived by her sons, Virgil Larry Pittman (Marla), Don Steven Pittman (Linda); daughter, Brenda Pittman West (Spencer); grandchildren, Brian Liddle, Steven Danielson, Darren Liddle, Brent Raby, Larry Raby, Weston Danielson, Lauren Pittman, Jennifer Freitag, Donnie Pittman, Jerry Freitag, Melanie Pittman, Jason Pittman and Spencer West; nineteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Cecil Manders and Johnnie Manders; sisters, Katherine Carter, Susie Kerts and Annette Manders.
Eunice married the love of her life on November 30, 1943. During the war years Eunice worked in Brunswick Georgia at the shipyards, building troop carriers. She was classified as a burner; she was an original Rosie the Riveter. In 1949 the family moved to 7 Circle Potomac Heights until they moved to Laurel Drive in 1957, where she raised her family and lived until the day of her death.
Eunice was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She was a devout Christian and mighty prayer warrior. She was a member of Indian Head Baptist Church and a Charter member of Potomac Heights Baptist Church, which was established as a mission in 1957. In her last days she was a member of Marbury Baptist Church.
Pallbearers: Brian Liddle, Darren Liddle, Brent Raby, Larry Raby, Donnie Pittman, Jason Pittman, Jerry Freitag and Spencer West.
All services will be held at Marbury Baptist Church, 4670 Bicknell Road, Marbury, MD 20658. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 from 10:00 AM until time of Service at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 3221 Mattawoman-Beantown Road, Waldorf, MD 20601
