Eula Johnson Peters, 88, passed away Sunday, September 18, 2022.
A Funeral service will be held Sunday, September 25, 2022, at 2:00PM, at the First Baptist Church in Rochester, TX, with Rev. Randy Tenery officiating. Burial will follow services at the Rochester Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes.
Eula was born in Old Glory, TX, the daughter of Leona and Ed Johnson. She grew up in Rule and married Lowell (Son) Peters in Haskell County in 1949. They lived back and forth between Plainview and Rochester. She started college in 1968 the same time her daughter Vickie did. She taught school in Floydada, Old Glory, Aspermont and Rochester. She was the last principal for the Old Glory School. She was also active in the Haskell Historical Society for many years. She was a member of the Church of Christ Ninth and Columbia in Plainview Texas. The most important thing in her life was her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Vickie Peters and husband Don Austin of Red Oak, Valorie Tenery and husband Randy of Burnet; daughter-in-law, Alisa Peters Prayor of Plainview; one sister, Minnie Hawkins of Arlington; 8 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and 1 on the way; and 4 great - great grandchildren and 4 on the way.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Leona and Ed Johnson; husband, Lowell (Son) Peters; two sons, Rickie and Lennis Peters; granddaughter, Suzanne Harbaugh; sister Mary Hill, and brother Eddie Johnson.
