Eugene O. “Geno” Shotts, 84, of Vandergrift, passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2022 at home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born June 21, 1938 in West Vandergrift, he was a son of the late Orville Shotts & Margaret (Emanuel) Shotts.
Geno was a 1957 graduate of Vandergrift High School, and worked as a welder on the assembly line at the Ford Motor Plant in Detroit for 30 years, retiring in 2003. He was a member of St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church in Vandergrift.
Geno had a passion for working on cars, and was a real handyman, building crafts and woodworking. He loved being with his family.
In addition to his parents, Geno was preceded in death by a brother, Dean Shotts; and his sister, Delores Kirkman.
Geno is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sande L. (Snair) Shotts; sons, Kevin L. (Susy) Shotts of Vandergrift, Gregg G. (Kelly) Shotts of Vandergrift; grandchildren, Keith (Rachel) Shotts, Kayla (Ricky Spackey), Todd O'Neil, Connor Klazon; great-grandchildren, Easton, Brantley, and Cameron Spackey, Walker Shotts; and nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church, 303 Franklin Ave., Vandergrift, on Friday, July 15, 2022 from 12:30 p.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 p.m. with Father James Loew, O.S.B. as celebrant. Private inurnment in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Vandergrift, at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brady-Curran Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Geno’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
