Eugene Ezell, 82, of Akron Ohio, passed away peacefully, December 22, 2021.
Eugene was born April 29, 1939, to Eugene Campbell. and Amy Wims in Bladon Springs, Alabama. During his childhood, he was educated by the Bladon Springs public school system. After graduation, he would relocate to Akron Ohio in 1959 where he continued his education receiving trade certifications in Welding and Commercial Truck driving. June 1963, he married his loving and devoted wife of 47 years, Clara Mae Dubose. A committed provider, Eugene took pride in his work ethic and diverse work history. In his earlier years he worked as a Chef, and a commercial truck driver for Freight Express. In addition, he was employed by Massey Ferguson for 15 years. His employment culminated 2007, with his retirement from Goodyear Aerospace (Lorale), Aircraft Braking System after 21 years of dedicated service. In retirement "Easy E" as he was affectionally referred to by his friends, garnered a reputation as quite the dresser! He would enjoy a life of open water fishing, photography, grilling, traveling, and cultivating his massive vegetable garden. He enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren and doting on his many nieces and nephews
Eugene is preceded in death by mother Amy Wims, Father Eugene Campbell, beautiful wife Clara Mae Ezell, sister Mable Drake (Lawrence) and brother Paul (Dorothy) Rodgers
Left to morn his memory, children, LaSonya Ezell-Uehlin (Pete), LaMonte Eugene Ezell, Teresa Avent, sisters, Odessa (Chester A.), Grace R. Moore, Daisy R. Hodges, Helen (Eddie) Jackson, Genevieve (Lee) Smiley, grandchildren Taelor Uehlin, Lauren Uehlin, lifelong friends Leroy Hatten, James Johnson, and Tony Singletary. A host of nieces, nephews, friends, and loving in-laws.
Visitation will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, Jan 8, 2022. Funeral service will be immediately following at 12:00 p.m. at Rose Hill Funeral Home 3653 W Market St, Akron Ohio 44333 with Pastor Robert E. DeJournett officiating.
