Etta Bell Johnson, a beautiful and inspiring Christian with a heart like no other, went home to be with Jesus Christ forevermore on Tuesday, June 27. She is now in His very presence.
Etta was born in Lafayette, Georgia and lived most of her life in the Chickamauga/Rock Spring area. She faithfully served at Calvary Memorial Baptist Church, alongside her family. She was a singer, songwriter, pianist, and poet by heart and a hairstylist by trade. For several years, she managed her own salon where customers often became friends.
She lived life to the fullest and was a difference maker. When she saw a need, she prayerfully worked to help. She passionately served God with all her heart, soul, mind, and strength. The fruit of the Spirit was evident in her life. Her laughter and enthusiasm were contagious, for her heart was filled with the joy of the Lord.
She was the absolute best mother to her daughters LaTonya Greeson (Eric) and Kim Gamel (Jason) and a truly amazing grandmother to Vernon and Grace Evetta. She loved her family beyond measure.
Many loved ones were waiting to welcome her home, including her dear husband, Vernon D. Johnson.
While life on earth will never be the same, Etta's legacy of love and joy will live on always.
