Esther T. Casta?on, born in Los Angeles County on July 7, 1922, died peacefully at home in Oxnard on June 6, 2022. She was preceded by her parents Guadalupe Casta?on and Miguel Casta?on, sister Refugio Casta?on, brother Manuel Casta?on, and sister Aurora Garcia. She is survived by sisters Celia Casta?on and Lupe "Carol" Qualls; and brothers Robert Casta?on (Maria) and Joseph Casta?on (Rose).
Esther was a retired hair stylist, a devout Catholic and devoted to the Virgin del Tepeyac (Our Lady of Guadalupe). She was a choir member originally at St. John Vianney, at Cristo Rey, the original Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and Santa Clara Church all in Oxnard. She was very proud of being part of a religious recording "Alma Limpia" with Father Pedro Vera, M.Sp.S. Her hobbies included oil painting, painting ceramics and reading. And she was a legendary cook. She prayed daily for her brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews without fail.
The family is grateful for the help and support of the Servants of Mary Ministers to the Sick. In lieu of flowers, donations may be mailed to the order at 140 North G St., Oxnard, CA, 93030.
Services will be on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at Santa Clara Catholic Cemetery and Mortuary, 2370 North H St., Oxnard: visitation 9 am to noon; Holy Rosary, noon; Mass of Resurrection 1 pm entombment following Holy Mass.
