Esther Grace Shank, 77, of Myersville, passed away Friday, October 21, 2022, at her home.
Born on December 26, 1944, in Wolfsville, MD, she was the daughter of the late Cecelia (Lewis) and Russell Jacob Flook.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Brother in laws and Sister in Law's; Harry Shank, Virginia Shank, Leon Shank, Bonnie Shank and Jessie Shank.
Esther graduated from Middletown High School, class of 1962.
Esther retired in September 2006, from State Farm Insurance Company where she worked for 41 years as a Senior Service Correspondent. She was also part owner of Shank's Metal Art.
Esther was a member of Grossnickle Church of the Brethren in Myersville. She enjoyed exploring family Genealogy and created many catalogs of family history. She also enjoyed cross-stitching, sewing, and loved spending time with her family and friends. Esther the nicest, sweetest person anyone could ever meet.
She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Edward Eugene Shank; Son, Jason Shank and wife, Sarah of Fayetteville, PA; Brother, Alan Flook and wife Sandy of Middletown, MD; Sister, Joann Altof of Pennsylvania; Sister in laws, Marie Shank and Patricia Shank; Nephew, James Shank; and numerous other nephews and nieces.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at 1 PM at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, 12525 Bradbury Ave., Smithsburg, MD 21783. Interment will follow in Grossnickle Cemetery, Myersville, MD.
Family will receive friends Tuesday, October 25 at the funeral home from 2 to 4 PM and again from 6 to 8 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Grossnickle Church of the Brethren, 11301 Meeting House Rd., Myersville, MD 21773.
