Esther E. Krehl, age 95, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2022. She was born on May 2, 1926 to Clarence and Mabel (Herth) Skinner. In her early years, Esther was a member of the Girl Scouts and was even a leader for a few years. Her fondest memories also included skating at the pond in Tenney Park. Esther also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and doing cross stitch pictures. As a teenager, Esther became a member of the Methodist Church and later in life, the United Church of Christ.
Esther was also a member of the Madison Motorcycle Club, Winnebago Motor Coach Club, and the Family Motor Coach Association (FMCA).
Esther is survived by her children Bonnie Simpson, Nancy (Dennis) Frank, Richard (Monica) Krehl, Robert (Adelfica) Krehl, and Barbara Richards; and grandchildren Tammy (Chad) Maerz, Renee Simpson, Michael (Kris) Frank, Brian (Jennifer) Frank, Timothy (Bonnie) Frank, Crystal (Josh) Uselman, Holly (Jonathan) Krehl, Alexandra Blanaru, and Trevor Richards. She is further survived by her great-grandchildren Alex, Morgan, Jenna, Jonathon, Paige, Benjamin, Tyler, Carter, Violet, Anthony, Fuzzy, Moss, and Evelyn; sister Betty Everson; and many other relatives and dear friends.
Esther was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Krehl, son-in-law Myron "Ole" Simpson, parents Clarence and Mabel Skinner, sister Clara (Al) Dickens, brother Herb Skinner, and brother-in-law Ron Everson.
Visitation will be from 10-11:00 am on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Cress Funeral Home, 3325 E. Washington Ave., Madison, WI 53704 with a funeral service to begin at 11:00 am. Esther will be brought to her final place of rest at Roselawn Memorial Park in Monona immediately following services. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated in Esther's memory to Agrace Hospice (https://www.agrace.org/donate/).
The family wishes to offer a very special thank you to the staff at Oak Park Place and Agrace Hospice for their kind, compassionate, and loving care they extended to our mom, especially during the last weeks of her life.
