Ester Williams, 75, transitioned from labor to reward on January 22, 2022, surrounded by her loving family in Dallas, TX.
On February 29, 1946 in San Antonio, TX, a beautiful baby girl was born to Ray McKnight and Dorothy Bell Sorrell. This beautiful baby girl was named Ester McKnight and was affectionately known as "Becky."
Ester is preceded in death by her father Ray McKnight, bonus father Winfred Drinkard (who raised her from the age of six months); her mother Dorothy Drinkard; four aunts Pearlie B. Askey, Norva Lee Terry, Nona Joe Sorrell and her Special Aunt Dovie Jordan whom the family deemed "The Glue Sisters." Two sisters Ruby Rae Hubert and Sarah "Mickey" McKnight; one brother Willie "Bo" McKnight.
Ester lived a life full of God's Love and left a legacy to be carried on by her children and grandchildren. Left to cherish those precious memories are her three children Dr. SeRaphia Lott (Thomas); Marquis Thompson and Rebekah Williams Tate (Andre). Her grandchildren Marquis "MJ" Lafayette Thompson, Jr., Jada Alexa Thompson and Alaina Rae Threlkeld and her fur baby "Bo." Two sisters Brenda Ellison and Charlesetta Kessee (Lee Arthur); Special Cousin Gloria "Jeanie" King, three close friends Patricia "Pat" Borens (her traveling partner), Marie Sampson and Brenda Francis. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
There will be a visitation at 9:00 AM and service celebrating her life at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at Calvary 1st Baptist Church in Corpus Christi, TX. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. This Great Celebration will be a Personal Signature Service under the Professional Guidance of Mr. Norris D. Burkley II at Fields-Johnson Family Mortuary who will fulfill her final earthly celebration with great excellence.
