of Clearwater passed away on February 16 at age 95. He was born in Detroit, MI on May 2, 1925. He graduated from Cooley High in 1943 and served 2 years in the US Army during WWII in Europe. He entered Civil Service in 1962 with Immigration & Naturalization. Later he joined The FDA & National Park Service in Atlanta. He retired in 1991 and moved to Largo.
Ernie was a loyal Tiger & Red Wing fan. He also played softball with 3-Score league. The last 25 years he has been very busy volunteering at Largo Library and Talking Book Library as well as with hospice, The Red Cross and other agencies. He also played with the Kids & Kubs Softball Club.
Survived by brother, Gerry Grunz (Bobbie), nephew Gordon Grunz, niece Trisha Grunz, great nieces Lorraine and Taylor Grunz and great nephew Kyle Grunz.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 17th from 6-8pm at Hubbell Funeral Home, 499 N. Indian Rocks Road, Belleair Bluffs, FL 33770. A graveside service will be held Thursday, February 18th, 3pm at Sylvan Abbey Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Ernie's name may be made to www.guidedogs.org
