Ernest Dvorak, age 81, of West, passed away Sunday evening, June 26, 2022 at his residence.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 30, 2022 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Timothy Vaverek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Aderhold Funeral Home.
Ernest was born July 13, 1940 in West, the son of Joe and Mary (Gerik) Dvorak. He attended West schools and was a 1958 graduate of West High School. On August 31, 1968 he was united in marriage to Shirley Conaway in Waco. Ernest proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Ernest was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. He worked for Bell Helicopter for over 30 years, before retiring in 2002. Ernest enjoyed working on race cars. He loved spending time with family, especially his children and grandchildren.
Ernest is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, August "Goober" Dvorak.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 54 years, Shirley Dvorak of West; two sons, Joey and Shelly Dvorak of West and Michael and Devin Dvorak of Burleson; a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Dvorak of Penelope; grandchildren, Croix, Lucas, Jackson, Cate, and Claire Dvorak; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers are Croix Dvorak, Lucas Dvorak, Jackson Dvorak, Mark Dvorak, Scott Blizzard, and Gary Buckner.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gholson Volunteer Fire Department.
