DEFIANCE ? Erasmo Elias Jr., 45, of Defiance passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at ProMedica Defiance Hospital from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born on December 10, 1976, to Erasmo and Virginia (Salinas) Elias in Defiance, Ohio. On May 1, 1999, he married his high school sweetheart, Melissa (Martinez) Elias who survives. Erasmo worked at Johns Manville for 23 years. He enjoyed working on old cars and was a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He treasured his time spent with his family and especially with his four-legged baby, "AJ". He loved spoiling and taking care of his daughters Isabel and Alena.
Erasmo is survived by his loving wife, Melissa Elias of Defiance, his mother, Virginia Elias of Defiance, two daughters, Isabel (Peter) Flores and Alena Elias, all of Defiance, two brothers, Kellis Hatton of Defiance and Cornelio (Victoria) Elias of Woodbridge, Virginia, and four sisters, Lisa Hatton and Louise Hatton, both of Defiance, Emma (Roddy) Charro of Rockford, Illinois, and Christina (John) Wall of Defiance.
He was preceded in death by his father, Erasmo Elias Sr. and his brother, Eliseo Elias.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2022, from 2-8 p.m. at Schaffer Funeral Home South, Lawson/Roessner Chapel, 1753 S. Clinton St., Defiance. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held on Friday, October 28, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Schaffer Funeral Home South with Pastor Vincent Cantu officiating.
