Enrico Torres Santos, 56 years of age, passed away peacefully in his sleep of natural causes on Sunday, April 19, 2020 in his home in Leesburg, Virginia on Divine Mercy Sunday. Enrico was born October 1, 1963 in Manila, Philippines to Pablo and Alice Santos. He was the second of five children and is survived by his mother, sister Karina (Chris), and three brothers Albert, Hernon, and Elmo. He was predeceased by his father and sister-in-law Judy. He spent most of his childhood on Guam where he attended Father Duenas Memorial High School. In 1981, Enrico came to the mainland to study at the University of Notre Dame where he studied Accounting. He later earned his MBA in Finance at Georgia State. Enrico became an American citizen in 1989. He proudly served in the Army Reserves for three years. Extremely patriotic, he was proud to be an American! Enrico met Margaret Bernardi in 1987 while working at Deloitte and Touche. They married in 1994 and together they had six children. He is predeceased by his daughter Gianna, and survived by his wife Margaret, his four daughters Francesca, Luisa, Gabriela, and Rosa, and his son Joseph. Enrico loved his family very much and was very proud of his children's accomplishments. He is especially well known for sharing about their sports - his face lit up when he talked about his family! He was a loving and devoted father. Enrico was CFO of the Army Distaff Foundation where he enjoyed working for the past 15 years. His staff remembers him as a man steeped in integrity and honor. Enrico loved God and was a faithful Catholic. He lived by the motto God, Family, Country. He always wanted to sit in the front row at church. He loved debates and talking politics, especially at the dinner table. He was a huge history buff and carried a pocket Constitution wherever he went. He never missed any of his children's sporting events and was especially close with his son Joseph. They enjoyed playing Risk and throwing the football together. Friends and neighbors recount what a friendly, peaceful man he was - with a kind smile and kind words. He is greatly missed by his family who will always feel the loss of such a wonderful husband and father. A funeral service took place Friday, April 24, 2020 at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Leesburg, Virginia at 12:00 pm. Enrico will be buried near his daughter Gianna.
