Geneva, AL- Emmett Wilson Brown, Jr. of Geneva passed away on Monday, December 10, 2018. He was 71. A Celebration of Life service will be held on 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 14, 2018 in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Geneva, Alabama.
Mr. Brown was born in Enterprise, AL on February 3, 1947, to the late Emmett Wilson "Krook" Brown, Sr. and Ruth Grantham Brown. He was a lifelong resident of Geneva, having graduated from Geneva High School, Class of 1965. He was the president of his senior class. He then graduated from the University of Alabama in the Class of 1971. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Brown worked as a claims adjuster for Grange Insurance Co. of Columbus, OH and later as an inspector for the USDA. He also retired as a Major from the Alabama National Guard. His passion in life was fishing. He was a friend to all. He was preceded in death by his sister, Alice Cordelia "Blossie" Brown; and brother, George Hillman Brown.
He is survived by two daughters, Candice Jones (Todd) of Phenix City, AL, and Christy Lane Brown; two grandchildren, Skylar Elizabeth O'Keefe, all of Columbus, GA, and Justin Jones of Phenix City.
