Emmet Eugene Copeland, Sr, 81, Perry, passed away on December 12, 2020 in Winchester, with his beloved wife by his side. Emmet was born April 19,1939 in Perry, to Loyd and Ruby E. Schuler Copeland. He married his love, Linda K. Brooks on June 14, 1958 in Perry, she survives at the home. He was a 1957 graduate of Perry Rural High School. He retired from the Goodyear Company after 43 years of service, as a mechanic in the maintenance dept. He was a member of the United Steel Workers Union Local # 307.
Emmet was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family, dancing with his wife, hunting, fishing (fly fishing) and traveling. He was the person to call if something needed fixed or built. If he wasn't sure how, he enjoyed the challenge of gathering the information needed to learn.
Emmet is also survived by two sons, Mitch (Judy) Copeland, Perry, Jeffery Copeland, Leavenworth, one daughter, Jan (Bert) Copeland, Topeka, a daughter-in-law, Julie Copeland, Perry, five grand children, Elizabeth, Dawn, Jessica, Maureen, Benjamin, 10 great-grandchildren, Timmy, Thomas, Sammie, Sophia, Marley, Rosie, Ryleigh, Emmet, Ralph, Sabina, one great-great grandchild, Leo. He was preceded in death by his son, Emmet "Gene" Copeland, Jr. on August 17, 2020, his parents Loyd and Ruby Copeland Langferman and step-father, Erwin (Red) Langferman, two brothers, Louis Copeland and Charles "Chuck" Copeland.
Memorialization by Cremation Care. Inurnment services will be private at Buster Cemetery, rural Perry. Memorials to American Stroke Foundation or F.W.
