Emma L. Sickels, age 92, of Barberton went home to be with the Lord on February 6, 2022. She was born November 7, 1929 in Morgantown, WV.
Emma was a very spiritual and Godly person and she passed on her beliefs to her children and grandchildren. She was a member of River Of Life Assembly Of God. Everyone that knew her loved her and she always helped out the less fortunate. She took much delight in all living things. She loved to babysit her Grandchildren and attend all their activities. She also loved music and enjoyed playing guitar and taught some of her family members how to play. She also enjoyed dancing and going on long motorcycle rides with her husband on his Harley. Emma worked many years as a waitress at Belgrade Gardens in Barberton.
Emma is preceded in death by her loving husband, Duane; parents, Gay and Mary Chipps; and siblings, Mabel Palmer, John Black, Gay "Chipps" Chipps Jr, Annabelle Banks, and James "Skippy" Chipps.
Survived by children, Sharon Gray, Mary Milford (Don), Polli (Karl) Jefferys, and Fred Sickels (Sandy); 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family; and her 4 cats.
Funeral service will be Monday, February 14, 2022 at 1:30 pm at Cox-McNulty Funeral Home, 222 Norton Ave, Barberton with Pastor Diane Richmond officiating. Interment will follow at Lakewood Cemetery in Akron. Family will receive friends from 11:30-1:30 prior to the service. Memorials may be made to River of Life Assembly of God Food Bank.
