The late, Emira Eagle "Lymon" Bryant was an amazing and beloved wife, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, godmother, stepmother, friend, and teacher. Throughout her life's journey, she lovingly and generously touched the lives of many.
Mrs. Bryant graduated from Lucy C. Laney High School in 1958 and Albany State College in 1965. After returning home, she was employed by the Richmond County School System. She taught at W.S. Hornsby Elementary School for 30 years.
Mrs. Bryant was active in her church and professional organizations while her health permitted. She was a member of the Willie Mae Howard Missionary Society, for which she served as chairperson for several years. She was a member of the American Federation of Teachers, the Patient and Family Advisory Council at Augusta Health, the Augusta Area Cultural Society Incorporated, the Richmond County Retired Educators Association, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated Zeta Xi Omega Chapter.
Mrs. Bryant leaves to cherish her memory, a devoted husband, Mr. Leroy Bryant Sr., and a host of family and friends.
Mrs. Bryant's Ivy Beyond the Wall Ceremony will be performed by Zeta Xi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority on Thursday, April 18 at 6:15 p.m. at Beulah Grove Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 19, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. from Beulah Grove Baptist Church, 1434 Poplar Street, Reverend Dr. Sam Davis, pastor. Interment will be in Mount Olive Memorial Gardens.
