Emily "Mimi" Chastine Moffett, 86, passed away peacefully with her family at her side in her Williamsburg, VA home on November 8, 2021.
Mrs. Moffett was born Emily Chastine Bridges on August 27, 1935 to Edward Loos Bridges and Margaret Chastaine Crenshaw of Orlando, FL.
She was married for 56 years to Kenneth Duane Moffett. Mimi and Ken spent their early years together, crisscrossing the country in the course of his naval career. Even as a mother of three, she found time to have a rewarding career as a laboratory technician and office manager for a variety of companies in the Medical, Orthotic, and Prosthetic fields in Pensacola, FL and San Diego, CA. Known to her family as "Lovey" in her later years, she moved to Williamsburg, VA to have four generations together.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her brother, Edward R. Bridges.
Mimi is survived by her sister, Beverly C. McCarthy of Garden Grove, CA; three daughters, Mirella C. Wilson (Greg) of McCloud, CA, Natalie D. Hamilton (Bill) of Williamsburg, VA, and Teresa D. Moffett of Milton, FL; three grandchildren, Kenneth D. Hamilton (Andrea) of Hartfield, VA, Mimi M. Fernandez (Gilbert) of Toano, VA, and Bobby Lee Morris, Jr, of Roanoke, VA; five great grandchildren, Trinity Chastine Hamilton, Zoey McKenzie Hamilton, Tristan Slade Alexander Fernandez, Brayden Kyle Andrew Fernandez, and Syndey DeHaven Rose Fernandez.
The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at Riverside Hospice for their kind and loving care. Mimi was always an animal lover so, in lieu of flowers, she requested that you donate to your local animal rescue/shelter. Online condolences may be shared at www.NelsenWilliamsburg.com.
