Elva B. Yoder, 96, of Salisbury, PA, died Friday, February 26, 2021, at Goodwill Retirement Community, Grantsville, MD. Born September 5, 1924, in Salisbury PA, she was the daughter of the late Samuel A. and Lidia (Hershberger) Beachy. She is also preceded in death by her late husband, Edwin C. Yoder, who died in April 2003, and two brothers, Alvin S. Beachy and Menno S. Beachy. She was a member of Grace Community Church, Grantsville MD. She is survived by five children, Elaine Beachy and husband, David, of Manassas, VA; Stanley Yoder and wife, Brenda, of Nokesville, VA; Sanford Yoder and wife, Shirley, of Chambersburg, PA; Marlin Yoder and wife, Lola, of Nokesville, VA; George Yoder and wife, Barbara, of Salisbury; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one sister, Fannie Beachy; one brother, Sam Beachy, Jr. and wife, Bertha June; and numerous nieces and nephews. In Elva's lifetime she was a devoted loving wife and mother first. In her spare time, she wrote poetry of which one of her poems became a song; "Have you ever wondered about Gods Great Love". She liked to sew and crewel. She was also an artist and liked to paint with acrylic. Her works of crewel and paintings can be found here and there and most definitely hanging on the walls of her family. Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Matt Widder officiating.
