Eloisa Torres Reyes, 92, of Dallas, Texas passed away on February 6, 2021. Eloisa was born April 23, 1928 in Itasca, Texas and is preceded in death by her daughter, Amparo Reyes, parents, Robert Torres and Encarnacion Rocha; sister, Ydalia Pulaski; former husband, Raymond Torres Reyes; and cousin, Herlinda Medellin, who was more a sister.
She is survived by her children, John & Kathy Reyes, Mary & Agapito Mendoza, Grace & Paul Burbulys, Veronica & John Denning, Phyllis & Chris Shelton. Eloisa is also survived by her brother, Robert Torres & Anastacia Dilisio; sisters, Delfina and Roy Cantu, and Amelia Wright. She leaves behind 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Eloisa grew up on a cotton farm in Hill County, Texas before her family moved to Dallas. She attended Cumberland Hill School, married Raymond T. Reyes and lived in Dallas' Little Mexico neighborhood prior to moving to Pleasant Grove to raise their family. As a young family, she would take the children to see their father play baseball at Reverchon Park.
She was our loving and caring angel who shared a deep faith and firm belief in the power of prayer with her family and others. A devout Catholic, Eloisa became a member of St. Philip Apostle Catholic Church and joined the Catholic Daughters of America, Court Madonna #1817 in 1959 where she was a member for 61 years.
