We say goodbye to our beloved "Betty", Elizabeth M. (Tudor) Schmitt, age 70, of Wallingford. Betty passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 21, 2022. An extraordinary wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and highly respected Registered Nurse - she was a joy in all our lives. Born in Brooklyn, NY, a daughter of the late Charles and Laurietta Tudor, she began her journey as a beautiful, strong, funny redhead with a unique laugh. She had a long career as an RN - a legend on her floor - at MidState Hosptial. She was happily married for 50 years to her best friend and childhood sweetheart, Donald Schmitt - and together they lived a life of passion, love, laughter, charity and adventure. She is survived by her husband, Donald; daughter, Laura Campbell and grandsons, Jack and Adam Campbell; daughter, Barbara Schmitt with partner, Jesse Sanzo; brother, James Tudor and nephew and niece, Sean and Nicole Tudor. She was predeceased by her sister, Carolyn Sipe. With her kindness, generosity of spirit, and passion to create a beautiful world, Betty grew her family to include longtime friends, neighbors, teammates and colleagues that will forever be her legacy. Betty's family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Wallingford, on Friday, October 28th, from 4-7pm. A memorial service will be held in the funeral home at 6:30pm. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory may be sent to Franciscan Home Care & Hospice Care, 267 Finch Ave., Meriden, CT 06451.
