Elizabeth Louise Rossi, "Betty," 86, of Mayfield, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of May 29, 2022.
She was born on Dec. 7, 1935, daughter of the late Martin and Elizabeth Sleboda Stafursky. Betty graduated from Archbald High School in 1953 and continued her education at a business technical school in New Jersey. Soon after she married her high school sweetheart, Edward Rossi, they opened the legendary Rossi's Restaurant. They worked side by side for 30 years to run their successful business. Betty was a remarkable cook and naturally skilled baker. Her famous peanut butter pie could put a smile on any face that walked through the door.
Betty was described as exceptionally intelligent, strong-willed, and a gracious woman with an infectious laugh who would light up any room she entered. She was undoubtably the best dressed, effortlessly putting together each stunning ensemble. Betty carried herself with such class and grace, her fashion was timeless.
Betty was compassionate for others and always put their needs before her own. She was a giver of her priceless time, love and attention. She loved taking care of anyone but especially her three beautiful children, Edward Jr., Wayne and Darlene. Her home was filled with unconditional love for her husband and three children.
Her grandchildren were her world and her dedication to being present in their lives was met in return with their immense amount of love they all have for her. Betty loved warm rays of sun on her back, listening to Frank Sinatra tunes, and eating ice cream. She was a word wizard delighted to play Scrabble at any moment. She adored animals but nothing brought her more joy then her grandpuppy, Gus.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, but never forgotten.
