Elizabeth Mae Murray, age 81, a resident of Mount Vernon, WA, died April 24, 2022. Peacefully at home. Liz was born May 8, 1940, in Columbus, Kansas, the daughter of Harold and Lena McBee. She graduated from Burlington Edison High School in 1958 and married Gerald Murray in 1960. She was a wonderful wife and mother who opened her home to many including extended family, caregiving, fostering and people in need. Liz was a dedicated member of the American First Baptist Church in Mount Vernon. She was involved in many committees and a part of the Choir. She was a Weight Watcher Lecturer for many years and helped many people. During the time she was raising her family, working and helping others she managed to go back to Western Washington University and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree, something that she was very proud of. She loved going with family and friends to any casino, and her favorite activity was going to the buffet. She was the luckiest person in the Family. Liz also loved traveling with her family and friends. She attended sporting events for all her children, grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Elizabeth is survived by sisters; Barbara Demergian and Delores Taft. sons; Darrell Murray, Kevin (Debbie) Murray, Steve (Tamara) Murray, daughter in laws Jeanne Murray, Julie Hopper. Grandchildren; Darrell Murray Jr, Melissa (Jeff Kundurt) Murray, Michael (Brianne) Murray; Tessa Murray; Amy Thostenson, Katie Thostenson. Great Grandchildren; Emerson, Harper, Nellie, Olivia, Caden, Rylyn, Olivia as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by parents; Harold and Lena McBee, husband; Gerald Murray, siblings; Edna Bainter, Wayne McBee, Alma (Bonnie) Herman, Alfred McBee, Vera Catherine McBee, Karen McBee, Charles McBee.
