Elizabeth Frances Jenkins, 88 years old of Santa Paula, California, passed away on February 13, 2021 in Ventura, California. Frances was born on February 26, 1932 in Cuba, Missouri to Harry and Olive Boyster. She was the middle child of seven.
On November 6, 1947, Frances married the love of her life, Johnny Huston Jenkins in Boone County, Arkansas. They moved to California in 1948 for a better life before Johnny was drafted into the Army.
In 1960, she and John welcomed their only child, Linda. Frances was an amazing mom, actively involved in all aspects of Linda's life.
While Frances was an exceptional wife, mom, and homemaker, she worked part-time at various places around Santa Paula, including Rexall Drug Store, Isbell School cafeteria, Mehle Printing, John Jenkins Christian Academy, Copy Plus, Brownies Basement and did various catering events for local ranchers. It was thru these experiences that she became so well- known and a beloved member of the community. When Frances wasn't working, she enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, and going to Dodgers baseball games.
Frances was a member of First Southern Baptist Church for 27 years and she and John were the volunteer youth directors, she worked in women's ministries, sang in the choir and was involved in all things hospitality related. In 1993, Frances became a member of Ventura Missionary Church where she continued to serve in women's ministries and used her hospitality talents to support a wide array of church ministries.
You couldn't be around Frances for very long before you knew her passionate love for her family and her deep pride in her grandchildren who affectionately called her 'Nanny'. They were her life! But you didn't need to be related to 'Nanny' to feel the impact of her compassion and love. She and her home were always warm and welcoming.
