Elizabeth Gross was born October 13, 1942, in Dallas, the eldest daughter of Cecil N. and Dorothy P. Carr. After graduating from Richardson High School, Elizabeth attended the University of Texas at Austin graduating in 1964 with a degree in Education. In 1965 she and Robert were married at Spring Valley United Methodist Church where she, her parents and sister Margaret were charter members. Elizabeth and Robert moved about the country as Robert was transferred to various oil company jobs until 1980 when they returned to Dallas and to Spring Valley which was an important part of her life.
Elizabeth was a loving wife, mother and ministering angel to everyone she met. Her passions were God, family and humble service. Never focusing attention on herself, she quietly served whenever and wherever she identified a need. Her last act was to write the following in response to a Bible study question regarding Matthew 6:27: "Let God handle the details - trust in Him completely."
In a word, Elizabeth was the personification of love in action.
Elizabeth is survived by her devoted husband, Robert, son Wesley Gross of Dallas, son Brian Gross (Maria Gross) of Frisco (grandchildren Grace, Henry, Mary Katherine), daughter Sarah Graham (Kyle Graham) of Dallas (grandchildren Mason, Garrett, Reed, Wagner), sister Margaret Smith of Dallas, and by numerous friends who love her dearly.
Praise be to God for Elizabeth Gross who is now among the saints!
