Elizabeth W. Filippi (Nan), 90, of Stuart, FL, passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2021 after a brief illness. She was surrounded by her family.
Nan was born in Englewood, NJ, on October 26, 1930. Some of her favorite memories were of exploring New York City with her adventurous mom. She loved crafts, sewing, puzzles, traveling, hiking, and nature. Her most treasured times were those spent with her three daughters and their families. Nan's five grandchildren adored her. In her retirement, she spent many happy hours walking, bird watching, canoeing, and having sunset picnics on the beach with her husband, Ron.
Five years ago, she became a resident of Stuart, FL after moving there with her husband Ron Filippi after 20 years of retirement on Cape Cod, MA.
Nan earned her bachelor's degree in 1952 from St Lawrence University, where she majored in Spanish and was a proud member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority. Through the years Nan enjoyed traveling with her college friends and maintaining those special friendships. After her three daughters started school, Nan began a career as an Office Manager at Japanese Products, Inc. an importer and distributor of computer components.
Survivors include her daughters Pamela Brown Bowers and her husband, Francis A. I. Bowers III (Andy) of Williamsburg, VA; Ellen Aloise and her husband, Paul Aloise, of Palm City, FL; Sandra Valenzuela of Burke, VA; and a stepson Ronald G. Filippi of Wappingers Falls, NY. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Francis A. I. Bowers IV (Drew) and his wife, Amanda Watson, Mandy E. K. Bowers, Paul M. Aloise Jr., Daniel M. Aloise, and Matthew Valenzuela; a great-grandson, Francis A.I. Bowers V (Kalani), and her sisters-in-law Eleanor Cristello of Sebastian, FL and Diane Filippi of New Rochelle, NY.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Ernest H. Brown, who died in 1980, father of their three daughters, her second husband, Ronald G. Filippi, her parents, William W. and Grace Elaine Weichelt n?e Holmes, and step-daughter, Daria Filippi.
