Elizabeth Mae (Bair) Brown, 86, passed away peacefully after an extended illness while residing in Terre Haute, Indiana on December 9, 2023.
She was born on July 17, 1937 in Greencastle, Indiana to the late Fred and Ruby Atkison. She grew up primarily in Greencastle and Browns Valley in Montgomery County and graduated from nearby Waveland High School in 1955.
Elizabeth worked at R.R. Donelly in Crawfordsville, Indiana after graduation and then married Albert L. Bair on June 17, 1957. They resided in Linden, Indiana for several years. She worked for Purdue University in West Lafayette and Rose Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute.
She had many interests, achievements, and hobbies centered around enjoying people and helping them when she could. In 1974, she became a certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) while residing in Linden. She also enjoyed many hobbies including gardening, crocheting, flea marketing, collecting coins, and karaoke.
She was proceeded in death by her past husband John K. Brown, Sr. from Reelsville, Indiana (Married on December 12, 1987) and younger siblings, Norma (Lowell) Shaw from Terre Haute and Charles (Kathy) Atkison from Elgin, Illinois.
Survivors include her children, Terry (Roberta) Bair from Greensboro, Georgia, Deanna (Jim Chambers) Holmes from Mesa, Arizona and Marla (Abraham) Assad from Mesa, Arizona.
A celebration of Elizabeth's life will be held early next year, she will be laid to rest in a private burial at Bee Ridge Cemetery. Moore Funeral Home in Brazil was entrusted with her cremation arrangements.
